“Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything.” Napoleon Hill (American author, 1883-1970)
It is commonly known that desire is the seat of all powers. It is the ultimate inspirational tool for success. Success is the fruit of desire. All successful people achieved greatness with desire as their ultimate guidepost. Desire is the burning and consuming want for something to be achieved. It fuels our actions that without it the means to achieve success would be like running a car without a gasoline.
I would like to be in your face to say that goal-setting is simply not enough. Yes, beginning with the end in mind is imperative but is the end that is in your mind or your goal really what you want? Read the rest of this entry »

“Let no man imagine that he has no influence. Whoever he may be, and wherever he may be placed, the man who thinks becomes a light and a power.” - Henry George
The brain works towards its current dominant thought. That’s what we learned in the last post. Your success will greatly depend on how much thought, desire and effective actions you put on your endeavors. But of course, success begins with the mind. Let’s take a look at some of the factors for success as far as the power of the mind is concerned. Read the rest of this entry »

“The most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire.” – Field Marshal Ferdinand Foch
What makes successful people, well, successful? What makes them realize things almost effortlessly? Where do they get their energy from? What makes them stay up late at night and wake up early the next day feeling invigorated? It’s not something you buy from a store. What makes successful people do what they do is called passion. However, it’s not just some regular passion that they possess. The kind of passion they possess is burning and consuming.
What is passion? How important is it in our pursuit for excellence and success? Read the rest of this entry »

Are your actions towards achieving your goal really congruent with your belief? Is your conviction consistent with your life’s mission and goals? If not then it’s time to work on your awareness of what you are truly capable of doing. It’s time to show the world what you are really made of.

Poverty is spreading all over the world. But today, you have the power to make a difference starting with yourself. Your dreams and goals need not suffer from poverty. Instead, let your dreams live on and make things happen. It seems that the power of dreams can’t be emphasized enough. Dreams are powerful ingredients for successful goal-setting and alleviating poverty. Here’s another post on why dreams must be nurtured that I have written early last year for my older blog Charlemagne’s Main.
Nurture Your Dreams
Do something. If it doesn’t work, do something else. No idea is too crazy. Jim Hightower, The New York Times, March 9, 1986

Failure – it’s such a strong emotional word. The very thought of it makes many people drop their shoulders and make them throw their hands up in the air even before they’ve started to embark on reaching their dreams. They’ve let failure get in the way. The thought of failing is one heck of a dream killer. Yes, that’s how most of us perceive failure – the death of a dream. Those who tried but “failed” never had the strength enough to bounce back and permanently acknowledged their defeat.
But is failure really the death or the end of a dream? If only we could get to the bottom of what failure really is and how we must perceive it we could instantly bounce back and bring our dreams back to life! What is failure then?

“If A equals success, then the formula is A equals X plus Y and Z, with X being work, Y play, and Z keeping your mouth shut.” Albert Einstein“Yada! Yada! Yada! What? No, it’s this and that! No, no, no, no, no, no! Yada! Yada! Yada! Say what? Oh, you could have told me that early on…”
It’s an all too familiar situation…People come for advice and all we do is talk more than hearing them out. We hear what they say, assume something, formulate our advice, and interrupt with our point of view. Afterwards, we feel good about ourselves thinking, “Hey, I told him something. I’m good. That should fix his problem.” The other guy went away, without feeling even a bit listened to.

Today’s economic condition is making a lot of people wary and hopeless. For some enterprising individuals the bubble has finally burst and they feel that they are running out of resources. However, even though the economy is in a good state or not, a lot of people still find themselves in a rut, unable to find the motivation they need to access the resources that they need to improve their lives. Successful people and successful leaders realize that, as Anthony Robbins recently pointed out, it is not about the lack of resources but the lack of resourcefulness. Successful people and great leaders are always in a resourceful state. They have a resourceful state of mind.
In the words of Christine Miller, a resourceful state of mind is…
“…a calm awareness, giving an ability to reflect before acting, an increase in choice in response to any situation in life, an acceptance of the validity of any emotions, combined with an acknowledgement of their appropriate expression at any given time – a combination of creative impulse and logical thought.”
Whenever faced with a difficult situation some of us respond automatically by throwing our hands up, surrendering to the circumstance and put ourselves in a negative state. See, that’s the point. Surrendering is also a state of mind. When confronted with, say a financial crisis, we let our shoulders drop and let our minds wander off, creating bleak images of past experiences or things that you think could be worse. It is your mind that is creating these images as you’ve let yourself access your negative state.
It’s time you change the way you see things under any difficult situations. The time is now.
